Rep Muhammad Hassan Dies In Abuja…House Of Reps, Kwankwaso Offer Condolences

The Deputy Chairman, Committee on Judiciary, House of Representatives,  Rep Muhammad Danjuma Hassan, is dead.

The federal lawmaker, who was the representative of Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency, Kano State, died in Abuja.

Spokesman for the House of Representatives, Rep Akin Rotimi announced Hassan’s passing in a statement he issued in Abuja on Saturday.

‘With profound sorrow but in total submission to the will of Almighty Allah (SWT), the House of Representatives regrets to announce the passing of our esteemed colleague, Rep. Muhammad Danjuma Hassan, Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Judiciary, and Member representing Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency of Kano State.

Rep. Hassan, who was elected into the House of Representatives in 2023 on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), passed away in the evening of Friday, April 10, 2026, in Abuja, after a period of illness. He was 66 years old.

With his demise, Nigeria has lost one of its foremost Legislative Counsel and Legal Draftsmen, whose contributions over the years significantly advanced legislative development and constitutional processes in the country’ he said.

Former governor of Kano State, Alhaji Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso has also offered his condolences while calling the deceased  federal lawmaker a dedicated and loyal member of the Kwankwasiyya Movement.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Alhaji Kwankwaso, who is the leader of Kwankwaiyya Movement, offered his condolences in a Facebook post on Saturday.

 ‘I am saddened by the passing of Hon. Barr. Muhammad Danjuma Hassan (MD Hassan), the Member representing Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Barrister Hassan was a dedicated and loyal member of the Kwankwasiyya Movement. Even while courageously battling a prolonged ailment, he remained steadfast in his commitment to the ideals and progress of our movement and his people. His resilience and unwavering dedication were truly inspiring.

We will greatly miss his immense contributions to the people of his constituency and to the nation at large. His service as a legal scholar, legislator, and community leader left a lasting impact.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to his beloved family, as well as the good people of Dawakin Kudu and Warawa. May Allah grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
