Saraki Solely Funding Our Activities, Programmes…Audu Musa’s Service Wasn’t Pro Bono-ABSF

Saraki Solely Funding Our Activities, Programmes…Audu Musa’s Service Wasn’t Pro Bono-ABSF

The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation (ABSF) has officially refuted claims surrounding the recent termination of Dr. Audu Musa Idowu’s appointment as its Executive Director rubbishing speculations attempting to link his removal to political developments, specifically his exit from the PDP after failing to secure Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero/Ekiti reps nomination.

In a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the Regional Director, North Central, Mr. Lawal Olanrewaju Temitayo, ABSF clarified and asserted that Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki is the sole founder and financial sponsor of the organization describing rumors that Dr. Idowu financed or sustained the organization as untrue.

The statement also clarified that Dr Audu’s role was never pro bono but rather a salaried employee who received regular compensation for his duties like other staff members.

Established in 2019, the ABSF restated its core mission to drive community-centered interventions across the country focusing on healthcare, education, clean water, and rural electrification.

The statement emphasized that ABSF operates as a strictly philanthropic, non-partisan, and apolitical entity, completely separate from partisan mobilization or politics.

‘The Foundation’s activities are deliberately separated from partisan activities, and it is not a platform for political mobilization, party administration, or electoral activities. Over the years since inception, the Foundation has translated that objective into visible, measurable, community-centered interventions such as access to potable water, education, healthcare, rural electrification, livelihood support, and humanitarian relief.

It is, therefore, important to clarify that Dr. Audu Musa Idowu served the Foundation as its Executive Director as a salaried employee just like every other member of staff down to the lowest-ranking employee. He received a salary for the duties assigned to him. His position as the erstwhile Executive Director did not confer on him ownership, co-ownership, or financial sponsorship of the Foundation or its programmes.

Indeed, in maintaining the Foundation’s non-partisan position, all politically-exposed-persons/aides associated with the founder were removed from the Foundation’s operational structure. These aides include Alhaji Nasir Subair, Hon. Oye Adetula, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, Ibrahim Olayinka Otukoko, and Kawu Ndanusa, among others and they were replaced with neutral non-partisan out-sourced personnel and professionals to ensure a clear institutional separation between the Foundation and partisan political activities.

The Foundation consequently rejects any suggestions that its programmes, resources, or philanthropic interventions were personally funded or sponsored by any former or current staff member. The financial responsibility for the Foundation rests solely with its founder, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, whose commitment to philanthropy predates and remains independent of the political activities of individual members of staff’ ABSF submitted.

While noting that it respects Dr. Audu Musa Idowu’s right to make personal political decisions, including his decision to resign from the PDP, the statement said such political decisions should not be ‘conflated with the ownership, funding, and administration of the Foundation’ adding that his exit from the Foundation is ‘an employment matter and should be treated separately from his political choices’.

ABSF added that it remains committed to its core principles of philanthropy, professionalism, neutrality, and service to humanity promising to continue to operate as a non-political and non-partisan organization, independent of individual political ambitions, while pursuing the humanitarian objectives for which it was established and solely funded by Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
