Seeking To Know If Ataoja Of Osogbo’s Assassination Attempt Disclosure Holds Up To Scrutiny Or Not Amounts To ‘Lèse-Majesté’, Accord Party Tells Osun APC
Osun State Accord Party has condemned the press statement issued by the state APC on Sunday in which the party had sought to test the validity of the disclosure made by Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji that there was an attempt on his life ahead of the 2022 governorship election calling this ‘an insult to the royal stool and all the sons and daughters of Osogbo’.
‘We are shocked that Osun APC instead of commiserating with the highly revered monarch is questioning the veracity of the assassination attempt as narrated by the royal father. This is an outrageous desecration of the palace of Ataoja of Osogboland.
Rather than showing readiness to rein in its political thugs in order to stop harassing Osogbo residents, the Osun State APC found pleasure in joking about an incident that nearly took the life of the monarch. This is an unpardonable affront and insult to the sons and daughters of Osogboland.
We had expected the Osun State APC to respect its chieftains including the National Secretary of the party who are from Osogbo. But this was not to be. The disintegrating opposition party has taken its misconduct from the public to the monarch of the capital city of Osun’ Accord Party submitted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its chairman, Pastor Victor Akande.
Asking the Osun State APC to retract what was described as ‘insulting press statement’, Osun State Accord Party also commiserated with the Ataoja of Osogboland and called on the state police command to beef up security around the palace and across the state.
‘On behalf of the state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, we convey our condolences to the royal father and all the victims. We pray for a continued divine shield on our dear monarch”, the statement concluded-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
