Soludo, Adeleke, Wike Given Roles In President Tinubu’s Campaign Council…APGA, Imole Campaign Council React

Ahead of the 2027 presidential election, the ruling party, the APC, has given bigwigs from the Accord Party, PDP, and APGA roles in its Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), which has raised questions and unsettled some nerves. While the APC has secured the involvement of three ‘friendly’ opposition parties, three ‘hostile’ opposition parties were left out: the ADC, NDC, and APM.

PDP leader, Mr Nyesom Wike, who is currently the FCT minister, Accord Party’s only governor , Asiwaju Ademola Adeleke and APGA’s only governor, Professor Charles Soludo have been assigned strategic roles in the Campaign Council.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the list containing members of the Campaign Council was released by APC National Secretary, Barrister Ajibola Basiru on Monday, and he has urged members of the campaign council to attend the inauguration ceremony scheduled to hold in Abuja tomorrow.

While President Bola Tinubu will serve as chairman, Vice President Kashim Shettima is Vice Chairman I of the Campaign Council, APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, Vice Chairman II, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Tajudeen Abbas and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq are Deputy Vice Chairmen.

Others are Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General, Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Director-Generals, the president’s Chief of Staff , Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Head of Administration and Hon. James Faleke, Deputy Director-General in charge of Election Planning.

Hon. Ibrahim Masari will oversee Logistics and Operations, while Hon. Aminu Masari will coordinate Parliamentary Mobilization, Governor Hope Uzodimma will serve as Secretary of the campaign council, Barrister Ajibola  Basiru, Deputy Secretary and Hadiza Bala Usman, Assistant Secretary.

While Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu will coordinate the Southwest campaign, Governor Ademola Adeleke has been appointed as Osun State Coordinator, Governor Charles Soludo has also gotten a similar role in Anambra State..

The presidential, senate and reps elections will be held on the same day and at the same time and the ‘friendly’ opposition parties and the ruling parties have field candidates for the senate and reps elections.

Political pundits foresee that the model introduced by Mr Nyesom Wike in Abuja where some candidates are voluntarily withdrawing their candidacies may be adopted by the affected states.

Reacting to the news of the appointment of Governor Charles Soludo as Coordinator of Tinubu Campaign Council, the National Working Committee of APGA has not only congratulated him but also noted that it is a testament to his exemplary leadership, uncommon commitment to progressive ideals, and his consistent advocacy for a strategic partnership between APGA and the Federal Government for the collective good of Ndi Anambra and Ndigbo at large.

National Publicity Secretary of the party, Ejimofor Opara, who issued a statement to congratulate the governor on behalf of the NWC, however noted that while ‘it is Tinubu for President, it is APGA for Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly’..

‘As a party, APGA has made its position clear. At our National Executive Committee meeting and during Mr President’s working visit to Anambra on May 8, 2025, we formally adopted President Bola Tinubu as our consensus Presidential Candidate for the 2027 general election. In line with this resolution, APGA did not field a presidential candidate for the 2027 election.

Soludo’s mantra that ‘Progressives are Working Together’ is not just a slogan, but a statement of historical truth. APGA, as the first truly progressive party in Nigeria, shares ideological DNA with the progressive movement at the centre.

This synergy has already yielded tangible dividends for Anambra State, including federal collaboration on critical infrastructural interventions and economic development enablers.

While APGA remains firmly in control of Anambra State, our position remains: In Anambra, it is Tinubu for President, APGA for Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly.

We are confident that Governor Soludo will bring his intellectual depth, organizational capacity, and wide acceptability across the South-East to galvanise massive support for President Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ the statement added.

In Osun State, The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) has also welcomed the appointment of Governor Ademola Adeleke as the state Coordinator of PBAT Presidential Campaign Council describing this as well deserved while pledging that President Tinubu’s confidence in the governor’s ability to deliver the State of the Living Spring in the upcoming presidential election would not be misplaced.

TICC in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its Director General, Senator Olalere Oyewunmi assured the president that the trust reposed in the governor would be justified through unwavering commitment and a strong electoral performance.

The council also promised to deliver 1.5million votes for the president in the state adding that all the structures of Accord Party in the State of the Living Spring will work for the president’s re-election.

‘The Imole Campaign Council welcomes the appointment of Governor Adeleke as State Coordinator of PBAT Presidential Campaign Council in Osun.

The appointment is a well-deserved one. We assure the president that his confidence in the ability of Governor Adeleke to deliver Osun in the Presidential election will not be misplaced.

We promise the president, just like Governor Adeleke had said sometimes ago that we will deliver 1.5million votes to ensure his victory in the coming Presidential election.

Our message to the people of Osun State is to keep trusting and supporting Governor Adeleke as he continues to deliver on his campaign promises. A vote for President Tinubu is a support for Governor Adeleke’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
