Why We Took The Decision To Seal Off ADC Campaign Office-Sokoto Govt
Sokoto State government has sealed off the campaign office of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state, citing a dispute over the property’s legal ownership and potential security risks.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the state Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Barrister Nasiru Dantsoho, who commented on the issue in a statement he issued in Sokoto on Monday, added that government records showed that the building was registered under the defunct Savannah Bank, with no documented transfer of ownership.
He added that the closure aims to prevent violent clashes following a recent confrontation between party supporters and suspected political thugs while adding thst the state government is awaiting clarification from the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), which manages the bank’s assets.
Barrister Nasiru Dantsoho also said the state government had reached out to the NDIC to verify the current owner but has not yet received a response noting that the office will remain sealed off until the NDIC provides clarification and the rightful owner is established.
The state government urged any individual or organization claiming ownership of the premises to present official documentation for verification, promising to release the property as soon as the issue is resolved- Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
