Yayi Discloses 2 Previous Failures To Shift Base To Ogun, Says Only Jesters Will Say He’s From Ekiti

Ogun State APC gubernatorial candidate, Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan, who is popularly called Yayi, has submitted that those claiming he is an indigene of Ekiti State are jesters.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Senator Yayi , who said this while talking to journalists in Lagos on Tuesday, also asserted that his parents hailed from the Gateway State making him a bonafide citizen of Ogun State.

‘My late father was from Ogun State, my mother is from Ogun State. I am from Ogun State. Those who claim I am from Ekiti are jesters’ Senator Yayi, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation, submitted.

He added that contrary to claims made in some quarters, his father was buried in Lagos State not Ekiti State.

‘My father was not buried in Ekiti; my father was buried in the house he built at Ogunsola Street at Alaguntan in Alimosho.

My ambition to be the governor of this state is not based on personal interest or plan to enrich myself or to be in that exalted office to be called governor, but based on passion to serve. Passion to serve the people of Ogun’ he said.

Senator Adeola also noted that his journey to securing the Ogun State APC governorship nomination has been fraught with challenges.

He recalled that his initial attempt to return home from Lagos to contest was met with a ‘brick wall’.  This resistance, he added, forced him to return to the Lagos West senatorial district, where he ultimately won a senate seat. His second bid to succeed former Governor Ibikunle Amosun faced similarly stiff opposition, sending him back to the Senate once more.

Noting that it was his third attempt that proved successful, Yayi added that God answered his prayers, allowing him to first secure and win the Ogun West APC senate nomination, which has now paved the way for governorship nomination.

The lawmaker also submitted that his 24 years of legislative experience that consists of eight years in the Lagos State House of Assembly, four years in the House of Representatives, and 12 years in the Senate have equipped him with the requisite skills to effectively govern the state-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
