2022 Guber Election: Osun APC Urges Peace Ahead Of Tribunal Ruling
As Osun state people look forward to getting to know what will be the eventual decision of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal headed by Justice Tetse Kume, the state APC has urged its members and supporters to continue to promote peaceful coexistence in their respective communities.
The Acting State Chairman of the party, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Thursday that his party had done everything within the ambit of the law to ensure diligent prosecution of its petition against the respondents.
It will be recalled that gubernatorial election was held in the state on July 16, 2022 , while the Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) had announced Governor Ademola Adeleke, who was the PDP guber candidate, as winner of the election, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had however filed a petition against his declaration as winner of the guber election.
Lawal ,who congratulated members of the party for being active participants in the seven-day fasting and prayer that the state APC had declared seven days ago, added that it wasn’t for fun that this was done.
The party told members that it was aware of the barrage of mocking that the members and leadership of the PDP had subjected them to after declaring the seven-day fasting and prayer.
The statement urged the APC members to continue to exhibit the ethos of genuine Omoluabi which they are known for both at the tribunal sittings venue and other parts of the state after the ruling must have been delivered.
Party members were also told to refuse to be provoked by anyone as no good thing can be achieved in a rancorous and violent environment.
The statement also reminded the police and other security agencies in the state to be proactive in ensuring a water-tight security architecture within and outside the tribunal sittings venue .
‘Let me show my gratitude to all our members for their show of discipline, exemplary behaviour and their absolute faith in God throughout the period that we have been prosecuting our petition at the tribunal.
I must state here that you have never, for once, let me or our prestigious party down, by your actions and inactions as you have been the worthy ambassadors of our party which is known for its ardent belief in the rule of law.
For no reason must you join the pigs to swim in the swamp as the difference between them and us is crystal clear which is realized through notable discipline known as the hallmark of the progressive party.
It was because we believe in the potency of prayer that prompted us to carry our petition to God Almighty while those who rely on evil powers and principalities were mocking us. We shall leave our detractors to God to adjudicate’ the statement submitted- Team@orientactualmags.com
