2027: Atiku, Obi, Others ‘ll ‘Crush’ Me If President Tinubu Loses Re-election-Wike

Minister of FCT, Mr Nyesom Wike  has submitted that he is religiously committed to President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid and will continue to stick out his neck for him because the opposition figures will definitely seek to crush him if the president loses re-election next year.

Calling himself the commander of ‘political infantry’ in Rivers State, he also explained reasons why he had to be in  the state to see things for himself.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Mr Wike, who said this during and interactive session with journalists on Wednesday said leading the charge in respect of the president’s re-election bid has made him become the number one enemy of the opposition figures.

‘I will be the first politician that I think they will come after. I will be the first politician. I know they will come for my head’ he said.

Asked if he has relocated to Rivers State ahead of the 2027 general election, Wike said he doesn’t believe in taking chances hence his decision to be close to home.

‘It is not about relocation, it is about coming home to interact with the people and do  what I know how to do very well which is not to take chances, so, I don’t need to relocate but must be in touch with my people so that you don’t just sit there in Abuja  and think  everything is going on well. 

It is like you getting a road contract and sitting in the office and the Supervisor will say everything is going on well before you know it,  something has happened, so ,I don’t  want to sit down in Abuja , I have to come home’ he said.

Mr Wike also said he will not sit idly by and allowed ADC presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar win the upcoming presidential election.

He also said he has to coordinate things personally despite having an APC governor in the state.

‘You want me to fold my arms and allow Atiku to win election? Iam the commander of political infantry in Rivers State ‘ he added.

 The FCT Minister restated total commitment to President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

‘Each day I sleep, I am thinking about the president’s re-election bid. When I am eating, I think about the president’s re-election. Everything I am doing now is about the president’s re-election’ he submitted.

Mr Wike also said he is the most talked -about politician in the country and the most criticized but he is unperturbed.

‘I don’t see where anybody in this country today has been called names the way my name has been. I am not bothered about people who say their [own] thing. My business is, like I said, I am going to support Mr President’ he said,

Commenting on his strategic political alignments, Wike said those who are criticizing his styles are flaunting their loyalty to the presidency and he made reference to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Governor Hope Uzodinma.

‘You see, the problem with people, they want them to be seen, that they are the people working for the President. I don’t do that’ Wike said, explicitly confirming that his critique was directed at Governor AbdulRazaq.

The FCT Minister also defended his actions regarding displaced politicians, specifically addressing the political future of senators who were not allowed to get party nominations. He argued that absorbing these politicians into his camp ensures their continued loyalty to the Tinubu administration, preventing them from joining ADC or NDC where they could actively sabotage the government.

‘Now, these senators you removed, you have no place for them. Therefore, do you prefer them to go to ADC or to go to NDC?’ Wike asked. ‘Now, if they come to me, obviously, they will vote for Mr President’.

Wike also fiercely denied allegations of planting candidates across states to destabilize local political structures disclosing that some governors had approached him with requests to prevent the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from fielding candidates in their respective states—a proposal he flatly rejected.

‘I said, ‘Ah, in any case, did I reach any agreement that, look, now that we are supporting Mr President, PDP will not have any candidate anywhere?’  he said.

Commenting on his reported rift with Governor Hope Uzodinma, Wike dismissed any notions of political ingratitude, maintaining that the governor is fully aware of the pivotal backing he received from him in the past.

‘The governor of Imo State knows the support I gave to him very well’ he said.

 ‘But you see, in politics, I’m not a threat. My concern is, I will support Mr President. If you watch what’s happening today and look at it, peradventure anything happens and Mr President fails today, I will be the first politician that Atiku, Obi will hunt for his head.

I will be the first politician. I challenge anybody. So, I won’t make that mistake, to be sleeping to see the President lose his election. No’ he added.
