2027 Ogun Guber: Gov Abiodun Endorses Senator Solomon Adeola’s Candidacy

Ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election, the state governor, Mr Dapo Abiodun on Monday endorsed Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola’s candidacy.

With the declaration of support for the federal lawmaker’s candidacy, the governor has made it clear that he will be backing Adeola in the upcoming gubernatorial primary of the state APC.

Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, who is popularly called Yayi, may emerge as consensus candidate of the party while political pundits have submitted that the governor must have declared support for his candidacy at the instance of Mr President.

Yayi, who represented Lagos West from 2015 to 2023, currently represents Ogun West in the senate.

He had during the thanksgiving ceremony held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Unity Cathedral Ogun Province 7, a few months ago, disclosed that Governor Dapo Abiodun supported his decision to move from Lagos State to Ogun State adding that this was confirmed by President Bola Tinubu.

He noted that when President Tinubu asked the governor if he was in support of his decision, he responded in affirmative.

 ‘Asiwaju said ‘This is the third time that Yayi is making this threat to go back home. Are you ready to support him?’ And His Excellency said ‘Yes, I am ready’ Yayi submitted.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Governor Dapo Abiodun endorsed Yayi’s candidacy during the strategic APC caucus meeting held by party leaders and stakeholders in the state on Monday.

In a viral video, Governor Dapo Abiodun disclosed that the party has already taken a decision on its preferred candidate ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election.

‘But first, we’ve decided who is deserving as the next flag bearer of our party in our dear state’ the governor submitted while Senator Solomon stood up to show that he was the one Mr Dapo Abiodun was referring to and this was followed by loud shouts of applause .
