2027: President Tinubu, Stanley Osifo Obtain APC Nomination Forms In Abuja
Ahead of the APC presidential primary election, President Bola Tinubu and a party bigwig, Stanley Osifo have obtained the nomination and expression of interest forms.
This development has made it clear that the upcoming APC presidential primary will not be an ‘uncontested election’.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Rep James Faleke obtained the nomination and expression of interest forms on behalf of President Bola Tinubu in Abuja on Tuesday while Stanley Osifo handled his own directly.
APC National Organizing Secretary, Alhaji Suleiman Argungu declared the process open on Tuesday and presented the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to Rep Faleke, who represents Ikeja federal constituency in the House of Representatives.
Each of the presidential aspirants paid N100 million for the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.
Recall that the nation’s electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had announced that Presidential and National Assembly elections will hold on Saturday, January 16, 2027, while governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections will hold on Saturday, February 6, 2027.
Party primaries and all matters that have to do with it are to be done between April 23, 2026, and May 30, 2026.
This is not the first time that Mr Stanley Osifo will show interest in getting nominated by the party, he had sought to be nominated as presidential candidate by APC in 2019 and 2023.
Speaking during a press conference in Abuja on Monday, Mr Stanley Osifo had declared that he really means business while asserting and clarifying that he is not being sponsored by anybody including President Bola Tinubu.
‘It is not strange to hear people saying Tinubu is the one sponsoring me. Even when I wanted to run against Buhari in 2019, I was told the current president was bankrolling me.
I can categorically tell you, as I stand before you today, that I have never benefited one Kobo from him. Thank God Asiwaju is still alive till today. If anybody has proof, let them show the world. So, I am not worried about such an insinuation.
I am declaring interest and running for president because of the strong conviction that I have.
