7 Abducted Residents Rescued By Security Agents In Kwara
Seven abducted residents of Kwara State including Adam Khadijat, Mamud Miriam and Mumuni Ahmed, who were apparently kidnapped at different times and locations and kept at a hideout, have been successfully rescued.
Spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, a Superintendent of Police, who disclosed this in a statement she issued in Ilorin on Thursday and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com, noted however that a vigilante sustained injury while engaging the gunmen in a gun duel.
The vigilante in question , she added, is already receiving medical attention.
‎’The Kwara State Police Command confirms the successful rescue of seven (7) abducted victims in a joint security operation carried out on Wednesday, 24th September, 2025, in a forest near Owa-Onire, Kwara State.
The operation, which was led by a Security agent attached to the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) in collaboration with police officers and vigilantes was sequel to the sustained search-and-rescue efforts launched in the wake of recent kidnapping incidents in the state.
‎During the operation, security agents encountered armed resistance from the kidnappers, leading to a fierce gun duel. The criminals were forced to abandon their hostages and escape deeper into the forest, while all seven victims were safely rescued. During the encounter, one vigilante sustained gunshot injury, he is responding to treatment.
The victims rescued include:
‎1. Adam Khadijat (F), 23yrs of Oko.
‎2. Mamud Miriam (F), 24yrs of Oko.
‎3. Mumini Ahmed (M), 17yrs of Oko.
‎4. Hamadu Haruna (M), 44yrs of Ajase-Ipo.
‎5. Afusatu Alhaji Ladan (F) and her 9-month-old son Usman Ladan, both from Omu-Aran.
‎6. Abibat Umaru (F), 16yrs of Oke-Ode.
‎Other items recovered from the criminal hideout include 3 Motorcycles and 9 empty magazines of AK-47 rifles.
‎The rescued victims have been debriefed, and reunited with their families.
‎The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, CP Adekimi Ojo psc mnips, applauded the gallantry and resilience displayed by the team involved in the operation. He assured that the Command, in synergy with other security agencies, will sustain aggressive onslaughts against criminal hideouts until perpetrators of kidnapping and banditry are brought to justice’ the statement added.
