Ondo Acting Gov Struggling To Break Free From Shackles Of ‘Shadow Govt’

Ondo Acting Gov Struggling To Break Free From Shackles Of ‘Shadow Govt’

Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, a former commissioner at the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, who is currently the acting governor of Ondo state, can be likened to a man who is though sitting on a refuse heap but pretends to enjoy doing this.

Mr. Lucky became the Deputy Governor of the Sunshine State on February 24 , 2021 after Governor Rotimi Akeredolu won re-election.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu

He had become Akeredolu’s running mate after  the former Deputy Governor, Mr. Agboola Ajayi left the APC for   PDP and later the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP)  ahead of the gubernatorial election that was held on October 10,2020.

 Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, a  Senior Advocate of Nigeria and a one-time president of the Nigerian Bar Association,  who became the Chief Executive of the Sunshine State  on February 24,  2017, had been ill for some months now.

He has been on medical vacation since June 7, 2023, and Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa,  had  since gotten recognized as acting governor.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu a few days ago, asked the parliament to extend his medical leave citing ‘medical advice’  .

Akeredolu, in a letter sent to the Speaker of the state House of  Assembly,  Hon Olamide Oladiji, noted that  the Deputy Governor,  Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, will ‘continue to act as governor until there is a written declaration to the contrary’.

He had in his previous letter that was dated June 5, noted that he would be resuming duty on July 6.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has been mounting a rearguard action to keep his head above water and avoid having himself and others being at loggerheads with those reportedly promoting ‘shadow government’.

It was gathered that Lucky has also avoided anything that will lead to relations between him and Akeredolu getting strained.

We reliably learned that only members of the ‘shadow government’ have had the opportunity to have telephone conversation with Akeredolu, who is in Germany.

Those exercising power behind the scenes have according to a source made everyone subservient to the shadow government and they have subverted the entire state to its vice-like grip.

The ‘shadow government’ is said to be headed by the governor’s son, Mr. Jide Akeredolu .  Other members of the powerful group are the governor’s Chief of Staff, Mr. Gbenga Ale, former Head of Service, Mr. Oluwadare Aragbaiye , who are indigenes of Owo, and the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Wale Akinterinwa.

The leaders of the ‘shadow government’ are called ‘Owo Cabal’ understandably because the governor is an indigene of Owo Team@orientactualmags.com
