Modakeke Monarch Mourns Passing Of Ayo Isawumi
The Ogunsua of Modakeke, His Royal Majesty, Oba Joseph Olubiyi Toriola, Ajibise Ogo 1, has described the passing of Professor Moses Ayo Isawumi, as a colossal loss to the Modakeke community.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the Chairman, Palace Media Committee, Chief Adedayo Ojo, quoted Oba Toriola as submitting that the death of the professor ,who retired from the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun state, was a blow to the entire community because of the services he had rendered to the community for several decades.
The family of the retired professor, who was the Apesin of Modakeke, had announced his death noting that he died in the United States of America at the age of 82.
The Ogunsua said it would be challenging to find a person who would be as committed as the late scholar adding that the deceased professor gave his all for his community.
The Modakeke monarch however submitted that it is God Almighty who giveth and also taketh life and that there is no leaf that can fall from a tree without the knowledge of the all-knowing God.
He said further that the death of Isawumi, an illustrious son of Modakeke, was painful, but he has taken solace in the fact that the deceased professor lived a fulfilled life by all standards.
Oba Toriola also described Prof Isawumi as a man who was dutiful towards his family.
‘On behalf of my family, the entire palace chiefs and all the people of our community, accept my condolences over the death of Prof Ayo Isawumi ,who was an active player in the affairs of our town for several decades.
