Kwara state PDP has commended the President of the 8th Nigerian Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki for sustaining his ‘act of benevolence’ that has had Ilorin residents and Kwara state as a whole as beneficiaries despite not occupying any public office since 2019.
The party in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the state Publicity Secretary, Hon Olusegun Olusola Adewara said Saraki, who is the leader of PDP in Kwara state, has shown more commitment to offering people-oriented leadership than those ‘who are occupying public offices and sitting on Taxpayers’ money’.
Saraki’s act of benevolence during the opening ceremony of the Kamalud-deen University has according to the party proved his large-heartedness, compassionateness, and commitment to service to the people whether in or out of public office.
The PDP noted that the statement was issued to react to the huge donations made by Dr Saraki to gear up the development and sustainability of the Kamalud-deen University, Ilorin, a citadel of learning initiated by the Late Sheikh Kamalud-deen Al Addabiy, the supreme leader of the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria.
‘ Dr Saraki , who is the Baba Adini General of Ansarul-Islam Society of Nigeria, and the Waziri of Ilorin, had during the University’s opening ceremony on Saturday, announced one hundred and forty million worth of full scholarships for 100 interested students who will be admitted to the University and also promised to make millions of naira available for the development of the institution’ the statement said.
The party described Saraki’s contribution to Kamalud-deen University right from the time the idea of the project was conceived as that which will not only add value to Islam but also promote the pride heritage of Ilorin and put the Emirate on the map.
The statement also said Saraki’s large heart must not be misconstrued by those in government as ‘political competition’ but rather be challenged by such an act to use Taxpayers’ money in their possession for the advancement of people’s well-being and progress of Kwara state.
The state PDP also congratulated the Ansarul-Islam Society of Nigeria and the management team of the Kamauldeen University for their vision to immortalize the spiritual leader of the Islamic movement, Sheik Muhammad Kamalud-deen Al Adabiy with the establishment of the University noting that the great efforts put in place to achieve such a milestone will forever remain memorable and unforgettable -Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
