Commercial Bus Driver Collapses, Dies Behind Wheel In Ilorin
It was a scary moment for passengers who were being transported to the main campus of the University of Ilorin as the driver of the commercial bus, Mr Lukman suddenly passed out behind the wheel.
Majority of the passengers are students at the University of Ilorin and the step taken by one of them had actually helped to save lives on the bus, he reportedly stepped on the brakes and steered the bus to safety.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the incident happened on Friday.
One of the passengers has also talked about the incident in a viral WhatsApp message and he claimed to be the one who steered the bus to safety.
‘Our bus driver just died behind the wheel , we had left the Sanrab Filling Station area, Tanke, Ilorin for the university campus. I was sitting in the front but wasn’t looking up because I was reading the Qur’an on my phone.
The other person beside me just called my attention and screamed out loud ‘Baba’ multiple times. By the time I looked up, he was already gasping, and the bus was drifting away from the road. I had to step on the brakes, take control, and bring it to a halt. He was pronounced dead at the school clinic. Everything happened within 30 minutes’ he said.
A co-commercial bus driver, Sulyman Malik, also said: ‘He expressed his sympathies over the recent road crash that I was involved in on Thursday .
This just shows that this life is vanity. Janazah had since been held for him.
