Portable Granted Bail For The 2nd Time In 3 Months! Sources Say He May Spend The Night In Oke-Kura

Portable Granted Bail For The 2nd Time In 3 Months! Sources Say He May Spend The Night In Oke-Kura

Controversial hip hop act, Habeeb Okikiola, who is popularly called ‘Portable’, was on Monday granted bail by the Upper Area Court, Ilorin, Kwara State.

Portable was arrested by the police and had charges preferred against him following a petition filed by a popular fuji musician, Alhaji Saheed Osupa.

He was however lucky to be granted bail at a first hearing on Monday.

Recall that Portable was on February 20,2025, granted bail by the magistrates’ court, Isabo, Abeokuta, Ogun State at a first hearing over assault charges.

Portable had pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.

Recall that Portable had allegedly led his ‘boys’ to attack officials of Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development in Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, Ogun State on February 5, 2025.

Officials, who were attacked by Portable, and his ‘boys’ are TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi.

Portable had also faced assault charges at the magistrates’ court, Ifo, Ogun State, two years ago, after attacking a policeman, Inspector Hammed Moshood at Odogwu Bar, Oke-Osa, Ilogbo, Ifo.

The incident happened on March 28, 2023.

Recall that Portable had in a video posted on social media platforms after getting released on bail in February this year promised to stay out of trouble.

He thanked God for ‘everything’ and noted that ‘making money’ is now his priority.

‘My fans, thank God for everything. If you have God, you have everything. I need money. I am not looking for trouble anymore. I’m now focused on making money. I have N2 million bail debt. I need more money. I am looking for money’ he said..

In the meanwhile, the Upper Area Court, Ilorin on Monday set Portable’s bail at N1 million with two sureties in like sum.

The controversial hip-hop act is facing defamation charges.

One of the sureties must be the Chairman or Secretary of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), while the second surety must own a landed property in a Government Reserved Area (GRA) with a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O).

What many had found intriguing is why Alhaji Saheed Osupa took the decision to file his petition in Ilorin given that the two of them are not residents of Ilorin and Kwara State is not the place of commission of the offence.

Portable has been taken to the correctional facility in Oke-Kura and he may not only spend the night there but possibly days because Kwara State is not a ‘familiar terrain’.

He is yet to meet the bail conditions, and his antecedents may not help him as no one would be willing to release his or her C of O- Team@orientactualmags.com   Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
