Benue Gov Dissolves Cabinet, Names Former Justice Commissioner As New Chief Of Staff
Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State on Wednesday dissolved the State Executive Council.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the dissolution was announced in a statement issued in Makurdi by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Tersoo Kula on Wednesday.
Kula noted that the governor informed the council members of the dissolution during the 12th SEC meeting that will be held this year.
The governor, he added, directed the commissioners to hand over to the permanent secretaries of their respective ministries as soon as possible.
He appreciated all the former cabinet members who had worked with him for two years and urged those who might not be reappointed, to remain in APC.
Those who would not be reappointed will only according to him give other citizens the opportunity to contribute their quota to the development of the state.
The governor also approved the immediate appointment of Mr Moses Atagher as new Chief of Staff.
Moses , a lawyer, replaces Mr Paul Biam.
The new Chief of Staff ,had also served as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.
Speaking on behalf of members of the dissolved exco, immediate past Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice and Public Order, Mr Bemsen Mnyim, appreciated the governor for giving them the opportunity to serve the state.
