Janet Oyeyipo: Gov Abdulrazaq Pays Condolence Visit To Former CJ Timothy Oyeyipo In Ilorin
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State on Friday visited the Ilorin home of retired Justice Timothy Adepoju Oyeyipo to commiserate with him on the recent passing of his wife, Lady Janet Olufunmilayo Oyeyipo.
The matriarch died in Ilorin on Thursday at the age of 80.
Governor AbdulRazaq urged the family to be comforted by the abundant grace of God by which the matriarch lived as a successful wife, mother, grandmother, and community leader in her own right.
‘It is human to feel pained when things like this happen, but we just cannot question the judgment of the Almighty. I pray that God gives my Lord and the family the strength to get through this difficult phase’ he said.
The matriarch is survived by her husband, retired Justice Oyeyipo, who was the second Chief Judge of Kwara State and a Life Bencher; and her six children — Hon. Justice Olufunke Adegoroye; Dr. Olumide Oyeyipo; Hon. Justice Ademuyiwa Oyeyipo; Hon. Justice Oluwatosin Adeniyi; Mrs Jesugbemi Obaze; and Mr. Demilade Oyeyipo —; and grand children.
Retired Justice Oyeyipo thanked the governor for the visit and his earlier calls, which he considered as ‘a great honour from the government of the state’.
The retired CJ described his wife as a great pillar of support who stood by him in all phases of his life.
