Gunmen Abduct 3 Travelers On Okene/Lokoja Road
The Kogi state Vigilante Services has disclosed that an abduction incident occurred between 15:00 and 15:15 hours in Aku village along Okene/Lokoja Road, Adavi local government, Kogi State on Monday.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Controller-General, Kogi State Vigilante Service, Mr. Ibrahim Omeiza Sani, who disclosed this in a statement he issued in Lokoja on Monday, noted that an 18-seater bus was ambushed by the gunmen.
‘Some armed men, suspected to be Fulani bandits in military camouflage, attacked an 18-seater Toyota bus with registration number Benue DAP 325 LG.
In a swift response, the KSVS Osara Command and six (6) brave local hunters, engaged the kidnappers in a gun duel.
Although the suspects escaped into the forest with three (3) abducted passengers, the bus driver and three (3) others were rescued from the scene of the incident.
However, during the mayhem, a bystander hit by a stray bullet died’ he said.
The state Vigilante Service, he noted, is actively gathering intelligence to enhance quick tracking of the kidnappers for a possible crackdown and the release of the victims while commending the gallantry of the vigilantes and the hunters.
