Plateau Mine Collapse Leaves 4 People Dead…100 Feared Dead In Zamfara
A mine collapse in Dura community, Jos South Local Government, Plateau State, left four people dead on Thursday.
Eyewitnesses said the incident happened on Thursday night adding that the miners were trapped underground.
A resident of the community, Chuwang Davou, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Jos on Friday
‘Yes, we have a tragic situation in Dura community. There was a mine collapse last night. I don’t know the casualty figure, but I can confirm to you that some people were trapped underground’ Davon said.
The matter was still being discussed when it was reported that there was also a mine collapse in Zamfara State with high casualty figures.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Executive Secretary of Zamfara State Emergency Management Agency, Mr Bala Ahmad confirmed the incident on Friday disclosing that it happened in Kadauri community, Maru Local Government.
