PDP Still Popular In Kwara, Aiming For Victory In 2027-Shuaib Yaman

Alhaji Shuaib Abdulahi Yaman, who was the Kwara State PDP gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 governorship election, has asserted that the party is still popular in the State of Harmony while also noting that electoral victory is achievable in the upcoming 2027 General Election.

Talking to journalists including Team@orientactualmags.com at Arca Santa Arena, Ilorin on Saturday, the former guber candidate commended the outgoing members of the State Working Committee of PDP for making the party remain relevant in the state.

‘In terms of the assessment of the outgoing members of the executives, we can see that they have been able to bring us to new heights. We can see that our party has been in harmony in spite of difficulties in achieving electoral victory, we can see that the party is waxing stronger and stronger. You know, that feat has been achieved by the outgoing SWC members, and recognition must be given to them for that, so, I say kudos to them for keeping the party in good form and what you are witnessing today is a very united PDP, devoid of rancour, devoid of factions, and therefore, we have been able to prepare room for us to achieve electoral victory in 2027, so, we thank God’ he said.

Reacting to the rumours claiming that he had left the fold of the party, Alhaji Abdulahi Yamah clarified and asserted that he remains a member of the PDP while noting that it is the only party that can take the country to the Promised Land.

 ‘Yes, I am still a member of PDP because I believe in the party itself. I believe in the rudimentary principles that have established the party, and I believe this is the only party that is capable of taking Nigeria to the Promised Land. PDP has been the only party that has weathered all the storms and in spite of all the difficulties and we are still together and I assure you, whatever is happening now are just momentary problems. As you can see, PDP has been able to bring itself together in spite of all those initial problems, and today, as a party, we can see the mammoth crowd outside, we can see the people. This is a commitment to a party that is the hope for Nigerians. This is the only party that can take this country to the Promised Land, this is the only party that can take Nigeria out of its present predicament’ he added.

Giving his take on the debate over the senatorial district that should produce the governor in 2027, he said emphasis will be placed on competence and the ability to achieve results while noting that members of the party in the state are ‘brothers and sisters’.

‘I don’t think any decision has been taken by the PDP in respect of such an issue here in Kwara, it doesn’t really matter where the party’s gubernatorial candidate comes from. What is important is competence and the ability to achieve results. So, as far as the party is concerned, I don’t think any definitive decision has been taken on where the party’s gubernatorial candidate will emerge from but wherever it is taken, whatever it is, in our party  we are brothers and sisters and whatever decision that  is taken by the party will be supported and respected by all of us’ he submitted-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
