Osun APC Accuses Gov Adeleke Administration Of Providing Shield For PS Who Allegedly Misused N300m
Osun State APC has accused the Governor Ademola Adeleke administration of condoning and tolerating high-level corruption while also providing a shield against prosecution.
The state APC in a statement issued in Osogbo and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its spokesman, Chief Kola Olabisi alleged that a Permanent Secretary has misused N300 million belonging to the state government and rather than reporting the matter to the anti-graft bodies, an arrangement was made to allow her return the money secretly.
‘Information has it that some of the political functionaries have been taking an undue advantage of the administrative hollowness of the governor to loot their respective ministries and workplaces.
We demand: what could have been the reason for the Adeleke administration, which professes, even though falsely, accountability and rule of law to be providing shield for a female Permanent Secretary who was alleged to have embezzled over N300 million public fund?
A government that claims to be above board would not make the corruption issue against the indicted Permanent Secretary a discreet affair with an arrangement for her to return the verifiably stolen money belonging to the state government.
Why is the government afraid to prosecute the indicted Permanent Secretary by the way of handling her over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)?
We implore the police and the EFCC to move in without further delay with a view to doing instant justice to the sleaze said to have been perpetrated by wife of one of the prominent serving commissioners in the state.
Covering up the corruption involving the wife of a cabinet member is an indelible stain on the Governor Adeleke.
