Why We Should Be Allowed To Produce APC Presidential Candidate In 2031-Defunct ANPP Leaders
Members and leaders of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) have urged President Bola Tinubu to ensure fairness and inclusivity in the APC by allowing one of them to emerge as the party’s presidential candidate in 2031.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the former members of ANPP under the umbrella of the Association of Former ANPP Members, said this during the press conference held at Agura Hotel, Abuja on Monday.
National Chairman of the association, Professor Vitalis Ajumbe submitted that it would be ‘unfair’ if President Tinubu, who is from the ACN bloc, fails to support the ANPP bloc in 2031.
‘Since the formation of APC, the CPC bloc has ruled for eight years under the late President Buhari. The ACN bloc is currently occupying the presidency.
Fairness and equity demand that our President should hand over power to the ANPP bloc when his tenure expires in 2031’ he said.
While noting that the ANPP bloc retaining the position of Vice President in 2027 is non-negotiable , the group however demanded greater inclusion of their members in the Tinubu administration being the second-largest contributor to the formation of the APC.
They have also pledged to mobilize massive support for President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 while formally endorsing ‘His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his policies and programmes for a better Nigeria’.
The meeting was attended by Senator Aliyu Sani, Senator Dahiru El-Katazu, Chief Igaga Ogbonna, Dr. Ibrahim Modibbo, Hon. Shuayb Kano, Prince Adebola Ogunleye, Mustapha Ringim, Princess N. Dickson, Chief Geoffrey Yilleng, Ichie Mike Ejezie, Dr. Francis Egu, Hon. Emma Ibediro, and Comrade Benedict Godson, among others.
