NSCDC Officer Stabbed To Death While Trying To Keep Mentally Ill Person Under Control In Ondo

A security agent, who was trying to hold a mentally ill person down in Oba Ile, Akure North local government, Ondo State, has been stabbed to death by the young man.

The incident occurred on Thursday and the security agent who was invited to keep the 19-year-old mentally ill person under control was until his death, an NSCDC officer.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the mother of the young man in question had invited two NSCDC officers to keep him under control when he began to act irrationally.

‘When the boy started misbehaving this morning, his mother invited two civil defence officers to help her chain him. Meanwhile, in the process of chaining him, he overpowered the civil defence man, removed his knife from scabbard and stabbed him.  But, it was unfortunate that the civil defence man died in spite that he was with a gun when the incident happened’ said a source.

Spokesman for the state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Daniel Aidamenbor, who has reportedly confirmed the incident, described it as ‘unfortunate’.

‘Yes, the incident happened.
