Osun APC Guber Primary: Babatunde Oralusi Urges Party Unity, Says President Tinubu Committed To Protecting Ile-Ife’s Interests

Osun State APC gubernatorial aspirant, Hon Babatunde Hareter Oralusi has issued a statement to assess the outcome of the meeting held with the party’s guber aspirants by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday night submitting that it was a fruitful meeting.

Hon Babatunde Hareter Oralusi in a statement he issued in Abuja on Wednesday which was made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that the president not only comprehensively addressed vital party governance issues during the meeting in question but also assured that Ile-Ife’s interests will be adequately protected while submitting that ‘we are all from Ife’.

The guber aspirant also emphasized the need to respect party supremacy and promote party unity and cohesion.

While thanking ‘our dedicated APC members, the party Executive Committees at the Ward, Local, and State levels, the NextGen Progressive, the Women Raising Movement, and my beloved Ife Constituency’ for their support, Hon Oralusi however noted that ‘our shared mandate for a better society is an ongoing commitment’ adding that he will go ahead with all the planned programmes.

‘My vision for a more sustainable and improved society extends far beyond any single election cycle’. he said.

Hon Oralusi also said he raised the matter concerning his alleged unjust disqualification during the meeting which earned immediate remedial measures.

 ‘I am pleased to report on the significant consultative meeting held yesterday with His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR). The meeting was attended by key leaders of our party and government, including the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Isiaka Oyetola CON; the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; and the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Governor Hope Uzodimma.

Focus on Unity and Party Principles

President Tinubu’s address was marked by a profound appeal for unity and cohesion among all the party’s aspirants. His Excellency stressed the critical importance of love and internal harmony, advising against any form of internal discord that may undermine the party’s collective success, citing lessons learned from the outcome of the last governorship election.

The president comprehensively addressed vital party governance issues, including the zoning of offices, the supremacy of the party structure, the role of a consensus arrangement, and the necessity of upholding fairness, equity, and justice within our political process.

Addressing Key Concerns and Constituencies

During the session, I formally raised the matter concerning the alleged unjust disqualification and articulated the legitimate ‘political’ interests of the Ife Constituency.

In response, President Tinubu demonstrated his commitment to due process by immediately assuring me that the matter of my disqualification would be addressed. He directed the National Party Chairman to take the necessary and immediate action on this issue. Regarding the interests of the Ife Constituency, the President affirmed his deep connection and commitment, saying, ‘we are all from Ife, and I will do everything to protect its interests’.

Commitment to Party Resolution and Discipline

Based on the constructive and reassuring outcome of this high-level meeting, and with the firm commitment to addressing my concerns by our leaders, I wholeheartedly agree with all resolutions reached. I hereby align with the position of the party, maintaining the highest level of discipline and respect for established procedures, and prioritizing the collective interest of the All Progressives Congress at this crucial juncture.
