‎ Kwara State police command has warned residents of the state against touching off fireworks at any location in the state during the upcoming yuletide while warning that anyone who sets off fireworks will be arrested and made to face charges.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the spokesperson for the state police command, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, a Superintendent of Police, urged members of the public to promptly report suspicious activities to the security agency while adding that the restrictions on movement of motorcycles (Okada) and tricycles (Keke Napep) between the hours of 9:00 pm and 6:00 am remains in full force.

‘The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, CP Ojo Adekimi, psc, mnips, extends his warm greetings to all residents as the Christmas and New Year celebrations draw near. To ensure a peaceful and secure festive period, the Command has implemented additional measures and restates the following guidelines.

‎The Command has deployed Police personnel to strategic communities, critical infrastructure, markets, worship centres, motor parks, and major public spaces across the state. Joint surveillance and intelligence-sharing operations are ongoing to maintain vigilance and deter any security breach.

‎The use, sale, and distribution of fireworks, bangers, and other explosive devices remain strictly prohibited. These items can cause panic, trigger false alarms, and serve as a cover for criminal activities. Offenders will be arrested and prosecuted.
