Jimoh Ibrahim’s Decision To Vacate Senate Seat Pays Off As President Tinubu Announces Ambassadorial Postings

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday announced ambassadorial postings that had some prominent Nigerians deployed to other countries as the nation’s representatives.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the ambassadorial postings was announced in a statement issued by the president’s Special Adviser Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, who noted that the new diplomats include 31 career and 34 non-career ambassadors.

The Senate had last year December held confirmation hearings for the ambassadors-designate.

The statement added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already received agreements from the United Kingdom and France for the High Commissioner-designate, Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu and Ambassador Ayo Oke respectively.

‘The ministry has also conveyed the nominations of the other 62 designated envoys to all the countries concerned, including a request for their agreements in line with standard diplomatic practice.

President Tinubu has directed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should immediately commence the induction programme for the ambassadors-designate and High Commissioners’ the statement added.

In the meanwhile, it has ended a ‘worthwhile decision’ for Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim, who had left his parliament seat to take up ambassadorial appointment as he has just gotten named as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

He will replace Professor Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, who was the Permanent Representative and the president of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.

Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim was elected as representative of Ondo South senatorial district in the senate in 2023.

Among the new ambassadors are former Minister for Interior, retired General Abdulrahman Dambazau, who  is now  the nation’s ambassador to China, Grace Bent, a former senator, Togo,  Ita Enang-South Africa , Ikpeazu Victor- Spain , Mr. Reno Omokri -Mexico , Mrs. Erelu Angela Adebayo- Portugal, Lateef Kayode Are- USA, Femi Fani Kayode- Germany,  Professor Isaac Adewole-Canada, Florence  Ajimobi -Austria, Ayodele Oke-France,  Yakubu Gambo-Saudi Arabia, Barrister Onueze Chukwujika Joe Okocha- Dublin and Dr. Kulu Haruna Abubakar-Tunisia-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
