A former Commissioner of Environment in Kebbi state , who also served as Chairman of Danko Wasagu local Government , Comrade Ishaku Daudu , has left the PDP for APC.
Comrade Ishaku Daudu, who had been a staunch member and a prominent stakeholder in Kebbi state PDP for over 20 years, was received into the APC by the State Chairman , Abubakar Muhammad Kana Zuru, Chairman, APC Elders’ Forum, Alhaji Sani Hukuma Zauro, APC Zonal Vice Chairman, Kebbi Central, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, Alhaji Abubakar Nayaya, Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro, ( Enabo) who is Governor Atiku Bagudu’s Personal Assistant, and also the financial Secretary of the state APC, APC woman leader, Hajiya Aishatu Gunabi, a party stalwart, Alhaji Kabiru Sani(Giant) and other party executives at the defection ceremony held at the state APC Secretariat , Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.
Governor Atiku Bagudu’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that Ishaku Daudu said he joined the ruling APC in good faith following overtures from friends and well -meaning individuals including the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, Alhaji Musa Yaro, ( PA) Enabo and other party supporters.
He added that plans were under way to also get PDP ward executives not only in his local government , Danko Wasagu but the Zuru Emirate as a whole to join him in his new party.
‘ I will sit with the party Chairman at the State level to work out how the decampees I am bringing into APC , who are party executives from local Government and ward level be received into the APC’.
I can assure you that PDP is dead in Zuru, PDP knows my worth and what I can do ‘ he averred.
Another PDP decampee , who came with Ishaku Daudu , Kabiru Adamu Bena, popularly known as ‘ Kwatara’, who was until his defection the PDP House of Assembly candidate for Danko Wasagu East and a three- term councilor in the area, said he defected to APC because of the resilience of Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu to curb the problem of insecurity in Danko Wasagu local Government .
He said the governor had ensured that the bandits terrorizing the people do not take control of any town.
‘ Governor Bagudu’s effort in mobilizing constant presence of security personnel in our area is unprecedented to secure our people from the activities of bad elements’ he said.
Chairman, APC Elders’ Forum, Alhaji Sani Hukuma Zauro , Alhaji Musa Yaro, and the Chairman of Arewa local Government, Hon Sani Aliyu Tela, (Kulita) in their separate speeches all commended the foresight and the decision of the decampees, particularly Ishaku Daudu to join APC .
Alhaji Sani Hukuma Zauro urged the remaining PDP leaders and their followers to also join the ruling APC.
He declared that Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has performed creditably well to better the lives of Kebbi people in all ramifications.
In the same vein, Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro, praised the former Commissioner, Ishaku Daudu for joining the APC describing him as a honest and a gentleman , who had tirelessly carried his people along irrespective of their religious or ethnic background.
Enabo promised to work assiduously for the success of all APC candidates in the 2023 general election and appealed to all stakeholders in the party to tighten their belts for the task ahead.
He said the CON award and the recent Public Sector award presented to Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu in Agriculture and Food Security by President Muhammadu Buhari was a clear testimony of good governance.
