Abia APC Primary Elections: Senator Kalu, Rep Kalu Make Contradictory Assertions In Facebook Posts

Ahead of the 2027 General Election, members of the APC who are having political aspirations and are  seeking party nominations, have been left in confusion as two prominent indigenes of the state; Senator Uzor Kalu and Rep Benjamin Kalu are claiming to have received ‘instructions’ from presidency while however presenting contradictory information.

Team@orietactualmags.com learned that the two political figures made contradictory assertions in Facebook posts on Tuesday with the two of them claiming that President Bola Tinubu has tasked them with overseeing APC primary elections in the state.

Hon Benjamin Kalu is the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives while Senator Uzor Kalu, a former governor, currently represents Abia North in the senate.

‘I sincerely thank His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the confidence reposed in me and the marching order to coordinate activities in Abia State in respect of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

As the most senior governor in the state, I am committed to working closely with all stakeholders, in line with the President’s directive, to ensure that the APC in Abia produces candidates who are widely acceptable, united in purpose, and well-positioned to secure victory in the state for the President’s re-election, while advancing the best interests of Abia State and Nigeria at large.

Rep Kalu in separate Facebook post however claimed that the president has also asked him to ‘monitor’ and handle things for the party while asserting that there is unity in the state APC.  

‘Thank you, the President and Commander in chief of the Armed forces , President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, for insisting that Governors should handle the issues of the party in the states with APC Governors , while the highest ranking political office holders like the Deputy Speaker takes care of the affairs in Abia state . Thanks for reemphasising this on Friday during the engagement .
