Akwa Ibom Businessman, Samuel Ekerenam, Abducted In Eket…Driver Gunned Down
Unknown gunmen attacked the shopping complex of a businessman, Mr Samuel Ekerenam in Eket Local Government, Akwa Ibom State, during the weekend.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Samuel Ekerenam, who owns Hephzibah Mall, was taken away by the gunmen while his driver was killed and the policeman providing security for him sustained injuries.
‘The incident occurred at about 10pm on Saturday and claimed the life of the driver, while the policeman attached to the kidnapped owner of the mall was injured’ an eyewitness, Udobong Asuquo, reportedly submitted.
‘We are yet to ascertain the motive of the kidnappers, whether the man was seized for ransom or other motives because they are yet to contact the family’ a family source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, also submitted.
Spokesperson for the state police command, ASP Timfon John, has also confirmed the incident while adding that a rescue operation is underway.
