Atiku Promises Physical Presence In Office, Says ‘No Proxy Rule’ If Elected President

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will ensure hands-on governance and he will be available for governance physically if elected president next year, the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, has submitted.

The Campaign Council added that the ADC presidential candidate will not be an ‘absentee president’ who would be unavailable when Nigerians need presidential attention.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Director of Media and Publicity of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan said this while receiving the leadership of the Atiku Unity Movement in Abuja on Monday.

Mr Kola Ologbondiyan in a statement he issued in Abuja, noted that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has consistently demonstrated an understanding of Nigeria’s economic and social challenges and proposed policy interventions to address them, recalling that the former Vice President had during the 2023 presidential campaign advocated a phased approach to the withdrawal of fuel subsidy, arguing that the process should not impose excessive pressure on Nigerians.

‘The country needs a president who understands the challenges confronting Nigerians and is physically available to respond to the demands of governance.

Nigeria cannot afford a situation in which there is uncertainty over who is effectively directing the affairs of government at critical moments. The country requires firm and focused leadership’ he said.

The ADC presidential candidate’s approach to governance will according to him focus on addressing the country’s economic difficulties, improving welfare of citizens and restoring confidence in public institutions adding that Atiku’s recent economic proposals centered on reducing the burden of rising energy and living costs.

Earlier, the leader of Atiku Unity Movement, Mr Francis Eburuwe, said the group is fully committed to the Atiku project and will mobilize Nigerians and make them see the need for a change in the country’s political direction.
