Bauchi Monarch Strips Ex-Minister Bello Kirfi Of Title …Daughter Gets Angry, Resigns From Gov Bala’s Cabinet
Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Kirfi , who served as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs under late Alhaji Shehu Shagari and Minister of Special Duties during the Olusegun Obasanjo administration, has been stripped of his title by the Emir of Bauchi, Dr Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu.
The former minister was the Waziri of Bauchi until the nullification of his appointment by the Bauchi monarch on Tuesday citing disloyalty and disrespect to Governor Bala Mohammed.
It will be recalled that Kirfi was earlier suspended as Wazirin Bauchi by Dr Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu in 2017 and Governor Bala Mohammed had been instrumental in his reinstatement on August 5, 2022 .
Team@orientactualmags.com learned the letter announcing that the Emir has stripped Kirfi of his title was signed by the Council Secretary, Alhaji Shehu Mudi Muhammad, and dated January 3, 2023.
The letter reads, ‘I am directed to refer to a letter received from the Ministry of Local Government Affairs with reference No: MLG/LG/S/72/T dated 30th December, 2022.
The content of the said letter indicated your disloyalty and disrespect to the Executive Governor of the State and the government. It therefore directed for your removal with immediate effect.
In view of the above, you are hereby removed from office as Wazirin Bauchi and also as a Council Member of Bauchi Emirate. I wish you the best in all your future endeavours’.
Following this development, the former minister’s daughter, Hon Sa’adatu Bello Kirfi, who was until Wednesday, the state Commissioner of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, has resigned from Governor Bala’s cabinet.
She had done this less than 24 hours after the Bauchi monarch stripped her father, Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Kirfi of his title.
‘Your Excellency, I wish to humbly tender my resignation as a member of Bauchi State Executive Council and Hon Commissioner ,Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs Development, Bauchi State with immediate effect’ she submitted in a letter addressed to the governor through the Secretary to the State Government- Team@orientactualmags.com
