
Vice – Chancellor of the CrownHill University, (CHU), Eyenkorin, Ilorin, Professor Jeleel Olasunkanmi Ojuade, has visited the Emir of Ilorin, His Eminence, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari to receive royal blessings and seek the support of the highly revered traditional ruler for his transformation agenda.
It will be recalled that Professor Ojuade was appointed as new head of the institution last month.
Professor Ojuade noted that the purpose of the visit was to pay a culturally and traditionally- sanctioned homage and obeisance to the Emir; deliver a message from the Arole Oodua, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi , inform the Ilorin monarch of issues and developments at the CrownHill University and seek his assistance and support for the transformation agenda of his fledging administration.
Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi is the Chancellor and the new owner of the University.
The Vice – Chancellor also added that the Chancellor, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi is planning to establish a Centre of Excellence in Cultural Heritage and Creative Industry Studies to serve as a Global reference and documentation and resource centre at the University.
‘This centre will boost scholars and students exchange programmes as well as attract researchers focusing on African Culture, Traditions, Royal Institutions, Artefacts and so on to the University thereby beaming a global searchlight on Ilorin’ he said.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Monday noted that the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu -Gambari , warmly welcomed the Vice – Chancellor and Principal Officers of the university and pledged to offer assistance and support the institution.
He added that Prof. Ojuade is someone that he knows very well and that they hold similar qualifications in Law even though obtained at different times and institutions.
The Ilorin monarch urged the new Vice – Chancellor to demonstrate exemplary leadership traits of character, knowledge, understanding and wisdom while praying for the success of his administration.

The Emir in his direct response to the message from the Ooni expressed his delight at the prospect of a global Centre of Excellence in Cultural Heritage and Creative Industry studies right in his domain. He went down memory lane by tracing the cordial relationship between the traditional institutions at Ife and Ilorin which he said pre – dated their ascensions to the thrones of their fore – fathers.
