Dramatic Ending For ‘Zigzagging’ As Osun Lawmaker Attends APC Zonal Congress In Lagos To Show He Has Left Accord
A member of Osun State House of Assembly, Hon Adesina Atanda Rabiu, who represents Iwo State constituency, has continued to enjoy a great deal of media attention.
This had begun last week Monday after he zigzagged in respect of his political party and this had made him be in the spotlight.
Although, Governor Ademola Adeleke had on November 4, 2025, announced his decision to leave PDP and later chose Accord as his new party, the 25 PDP state lawmakers had however waited until February 2026 before joining the new ruling party.

Hon Adesina Atanda Rabiu made news last week Monday after it was reported that he had taken a decision to make his membership of Accord Party have a short existence.
‘I hereby tender my resignation from the Accord Party, effective immediately. This decision is personal, and I’d like to keep the reasons to myself’ the state lawmaker had submitted in the letter sent to Speaker Adewale Egbedun.
Hon. Adesina Atanda Rabiu later backtracked and pledged continued loyalty to Governor Ademola Adeleke.
After a closed-door meeting with Speaker Adewale Egbedun and the governor’s spokesperson, Mr Olawale Rasheed, who is his kinsman, Hon Rabiu announced the withdrawal of the resignation letter and declared his continued support for Governor Ademola Adeleke.
‘I have withdrawn the letter of resignation that I earlier wrote and I want to state that I am still a member of the Accord Party and in full support of Governor Ademola Adeleke and I am ready to work for his re-election’ he said.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the ‘zigzagging’ ended in a dramatic way on Wednesday as Hon Adesina Atanda Rabiu has finally made his membership of Accord Party have a short existence.
Hon Adesina Atanda Rabiu had a strking presence at the APC Zonal Congress in Lagos on Wednesday and it was a way of saying clearly that ‘I don port o’.
At the venue of the zonal congress, the state lawmaker was formally introduced to Osun State APC leader, who is also the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr Gboyega Oyetola by Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi, Rep Wole Oke and former Rep Bade Falade.
In the meanwhile, Iwo local government Accord Party submitted on Wednesday that it is good riddance to Hon. Adesina Atanda Rabiu while also calling him a liability.
Chief Alidu Adeoye, who is the chairman of the party in the local government, noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that Hon Adesina Rabiu (ARA) had constituted serious nuisance and disappointments to his constituents since 2022 while disclosing that the party had refrained from taking action against him because of the intervention of some elders.
‘When he was invited to the Government House a few days ago, we knew he wouldn’t stay any longer because his request to get nominated by the party for a second term is a direct violation of the zoning formula operating within Iwo state constituency.
Apart from his abysmal performance which has made the party a laughing stock among Iwo people, Accord cannot violate the zoning formula which confirmed that Isale Oba is the next area to produce a state lawmaker.
The defector was a beneficiary of the zoning formula which he was struggling to upturn as he was handed party nomination in 2022 to contest because it was not the turn of the co-contestant who had won the primary.
We apologise to the state leadership of the party and our dear governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke for fielding and sustaining such a failed politician in the first place. We assure that Iwo Accord will never support such a mediocrity again and we will deepen the hold of Accord among Iwo people.
The exit of Hon Rabiu is a good development for the Iwo Accord. The shame has been removed from us and we promise Iwo people that we will present a credible candidate who will make Iwo people proud in the State House of Assembly.
Iwo people remain committed and passionate in their support for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election bid. . Our people appreciate the governor for what he has done so far and what he will still do for our people’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
