Former Air Chief Saddique Abubakar Announces Decision To Quit Politics After 5 Years
Saddique Baba Abubakar, who withstood the storm and served in the military for more than three decades and eventually became the Chief of Air Staff, has announced his decision to quit politics after 5 years .
The former Chief of Staff had joined politics in 2021 and two years later, he was lucky to get nominated as Bauchi State APC gubernatorial candidate but however lost in the 2023 governorship election.
Abubakar served as Chief of Air Staff between 2015 and 2021.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Abubakar, who announced his decision to quit politics in a viral video, said it was based on personal grounds.
Abubakar, who spoke in Hausa, thanked his supporters for their support.
‘Today, with a heavy heart, I have made the difficult decision to leave politics for personal reasons. This decision did not come easily, considering the love, support and affection shown to me by the people of Bauchi State and Nigerians since I joined politics in 2021. I sincerely apologise to all my supporters and well-wishers over this difficult decision, and I wish everyone the very best’ he said.
