Gov Adeleke Accuses Oyetola Of Making Open Threat To Rig Upcoming Guber Election, Vows Resistance
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has accused former governor Gboyega Oyetola of making an open threat to rig the upcoming guber election in the state vowing severe resistance to such while adding that the electors will enforce free and fair election on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
The governor noted that his immediate predecessor, who is currently the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, had on Saturday condemned his declaration of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid and had also said ‘A maa gba lowo e’ which means in English ‘we will retrieve it from him’.
Governor Adeleke in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by his spokesperson, Mr Olawale Rasheed said his declaration of support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid was a sign of his electoral strength to deliver Osun votes to the president, while submitting that Oyetola’s alleged anti-people, anti-democracy activities are tarnishing the image of Mr President and deepening the unpopularity of Osun APC among voters and residents of the state.
Calling on global and national democracy groups to intervene in the face of this open threat, the governor alleged that Oyetola has been coordinating police assaults on Accord party members while also decrying an alleged unholy alliance between APC political thugs and elements within the state police command.
According to the governor, a serving minister has allegedly made an open threat against free and fair election and he has personally confirmed all previous reports that Osun APC has lost the electoral confidence of the people and it is therefore focused only on rigging next Saturday’s election.
‘The minister has made mockery of innocent Accord Party members who were killed and maimed by APC political thugs in cold blood in the last two months. He has told the world that he is pushing to deny the people their rights to vote and be voted for.
The bad news for the minister is that Osun people are determined to resist his sadistic agenda. Our people rejected him in 2022 and they will reject his surrogate candidate, Bola Oyebamiji next Saturday.
As for us, we are winning this election by the grace of God and mass support of the people. We are not going to snatch the democratic rights of the people as Mr Oyetola had threatened. We will be re-elected by the choice of the voters’ Governor Adeleke submitted--Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
