Nigerians Having More Babies Coz Of Poor Electricity-Fayose
Former governor of Ekiti State, Chief Ayodele Fayose has submitted that the birth rate in the country is high because of poor electricity especially in the rural areas noting that provision of electricity is an effective population control strategy because it will not make people go bed early, enhance nightlife and lower the frequency of sexual activity.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Chief Ayo Fayose, who said this during his inauguration as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency board in Abuja on Friday, added that poor electricity supply in rural communities affects nightlife and makes the residents retire to bed early.
‘When you don’t address this issue of electricity? The people at that level have no alternative attraction. Nothing else matters to them. After 7 o’clock, it gets dark there.
Everybody is engaging their wives. And the population simply becomes double. The simple problem is because there is lack of electricity.
People go to bed early. Their mind is simply prepared that, well, if this is the only available recreation, let me remain here.
But when we address this electricity, there will be nightlife. There will be recreation outside your wife’ he said.
Other members of the board include Ahmadu Abubakar and Ilyasu Makinta while Abba Aliyu’s appointment as the agency’s Managing Director was also officially acknowledged at the event.
