Gov Adeleke Mourns Passing Of Akeredolu, Congratulates Aiyedatiwa

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state said on Wednesday that he was deeply troubled by the news of the death of Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), describing this as a huge national loss.

Governor Adeleke  said Akeredolu, who was until his death on Wednesday the governor of Ondo state,  made great contribution to Nigeria in the legal field and the public service.

‘Arakunrin Akeredolu was one of the finest minds in the country’s legal profession, and as a colleague in the Governors’ Forum, his wise counsel and constructive contribution is hard to miss. Nigeria lost one of its finest, and I’m hugely shaken’  the governor submitted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by his Special Adviser , Mallam Olawale Rasheed  on Wednesday.

The governor condoled with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the family of the deceased politician , the Government and the people of Ondo state over the painful loss, urging them to keep his memory alive by sustaining his legacy of good deeds and impacts.

‘In this moment of grief and pain, I offer my deepest sympathies  to everyone touched by Arakunrin Akeredolu’s demise and pray  God to grant him eternal rest while hoping for his immediate family, the government and people of Ondo state that he left behind finds comfort in the life full of accomplishments that he lived’ he said.

In separate statement , Governor Ademola Adeleke has also  congratulated the new Governor of Ondo state, Hon Lucky Ayedatiwa, describing his emergence as ‘the will of God’.

The governor, who, once again, lamented the demise of former governor Rotimi Akeredolu, said God is the alpha and omega, the giver of life and power, urging the new governor to continue his devotion to the service of the people and humanity.

‘I congratulate my colleague, the new governor of Ondo state. This is a golden opportunity to expand delivery of democratic dividends, heal the wounds of the past and unite the state for greater advancements.

Ondo state has passed through multiple turbulence. It is my prayers that the power transition will deepen democracy and widen the hope and aspirations of the people for a people-oriented governor.
