Governor AbdulRazaq Gets Support For Social Security Efforts At Meeting With UNDP Top Official
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara state on Tuesday met with the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Nigeria . Mohamed Yahya.
Abdulrazaq’s media team in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that the governor and the UNDP chief had fruitful deliberations while also getting the assurances of Yahya to support cash transfers to the most vulnerable people in Kwara state as part of its COVID-19 recovery support initiative.
The UNDP is a non-profit organization that supports governments to meet their long-term development aspirations.
The statement noted that Kwara state government had placed a high premium on social security and investment programmes under Governor AbdulRazaq’s leadership.
‘Through the Kwara State Social Investment Programmes (KWASSIP) established by the state government in 2019, several thousands of vulnerable people have been assisted and empowered with the young entrepreneurs also getting supported with funds.
Beneficiaries also include petty traders, the aged, transporters, school owners, among others’ the statement said.
The UNDP chief had also on Tuesday tweeted about his meeting with the governor.
