Ignore Media Reports, I Never Declared Support For President Tinubu’s Re-election Bid-Sultan Of Sokoto
The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III has described media reports claiming that he has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid as untrue.
The prominent traditional ruler also described the media reports in question as false and misleading.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that a statement issued by the monarch’s media office which was signed by Prince Bashir Adefaka noted that the Sultan being a father figure to all Nigerians, does not support or campaign for any political candidate.
The statement added that the Sultan cannot make such a declaration, either publicly or privately urging Nigerians to disregard an attempt to drag the revered traditional ruler into partisan politics.

‘Our simple response to the media report is that it is not possible for the Sultan, as a father figure to all, to make such a statement, either publicly or in any other forum.
Let it be made clear once again, that the institutions of monarchy and religion led by the Sultan are institutions of a father figure. As such, His Eminence cannot but remain within the purview of that role by offering fatherly, royal and spiritual blessings, as well as guidance, to Nigerian politicians who seek his counsel and blessings.
The Sultan’s doors cannot be shut against anyone who comes to him, regardless of political affiliation or persuasion. His Eminence has consistently demonstrated that he is the father of all and will continue to relate with all Nigerians without discrimination’ Prince Bashir Adefaka said.
The statement urged members of the public not to associate the Sultan with the campaign or candidacy of any individual ahead of the 2027 elections, noting that the monarch remains committed to fostering peace, unity, stability, and harmonious coexistence across the country.
Journalists and social media users were also urged to verify information before sharing it while cautioning them against the spread of misinformation which can mislead the public and drag respected traditional and religious institutions into political controversies-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
