I’ll Be Alive To Attend Events In 10 Years But Not In 20 Years-Obasanjo
Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has submitted that while he will be around to attend events in 10 years that of 20 years is not anticipated.
Speaking during the 60th birthday reception of the Olota of Ota, Oba Abdulkabir Obalanlege in Ota, Ogun State over the weekend, the former president, who prayed fervently for the monarch, also noted that he will attend his 70th birthday reception but not however expecting that he will be present at his 80th birthday party.
Team@orientactualmags.com reports that in a viral video taken during the birthday event, Chief Obasanjo, who spoke in Yoruba, noted that he had earlier in the day prayed for the monarch over the phone.
‘Kabiyesi, I called you this morning and prayed for you. I’m here celebrating your 60th birthday. I’ll join you for your 70th birthday in 10 years, but for your 80th birthday, which is 20 years from now, ẹ yonda mi (you’ll excuse me); you’ll celebrate that one the way it pleases you’ he said.
Although, 89-year-old Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who served as Nigeria’s military head of state from 1976 to 1979 and the civilian president between 1999 and 2007, hails from Abeokuta, he however has deep-rooted and well-known connections to Ota.
