I’m Still A Member Of APC, Nothing Unusual About Group Picture Taken With Gov Adeleke’s Chief Of Staff, Others-Osun Lawmaker

Hon Adesina Atanda Rabiu, who is a member of Osun State House of Assembly, has continued to enjoy a great deal of media attention.

Recall that the state lawmaker had in March this year zigzagged in respect of his political party and this had made him be in the spotlight.

Hon Adesina Rabiu, who represents Iwo State constituency, had attention returned to him again, on Wednesday after a controversial group picture surfaced online.

The group picture in question features Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Adewale Egbedun, Governor Ademola Adeleke’s Chief of Staff, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye and other top government functionaries.

Although, Governor Ademola Adeleke had on November 4, 2025, announced his decision to leave PDP and later chose Accord as his new party, the 25 PDP state lawmakers had however waited until February 2026 before joining the new ruling party.

In March this year, Hon Adesina Atanda Rabiu made news after it was reported that he had taken a decision to make his membership of Accord Party have a short existence.

‘I hereby tender my resignation from the Accord Party, effective immediately. This decision is personal, and I’d like to keep the reasons to myself’ the state lawmaker had submitted in a letter sent to Speaker Adewale Egbedun.

He later backtracked and pledged continued loyalty to Governor Ademola Adeleke.

After a closed-door meeting with Speaker Adewale Egbedun and the governor’s spokesperson, Mr Olawale Rasheed, who is his kinsman, Hon Rabiu announced the withdrawal of the resignation letter and declared his continued support for Governor Ademola Adeleke.

‘I have withdrawn the letter of resignation that I earlier wrote and I want to state that I am still a member of the Accord Party and in full support of Governor Ademola Adeleke and I am ready to work for his re-election’ he had submitted.

The ‘zigzagging’ eventually ended in a dramatic way two days later as he finally made his membership of Accord Party have a short existence by having striking presence at the APC Zonal Congress in Lagos which was a way of saying clearly that ‘I don port o’.

He had since then remained in APC until the controversial picture surfaced online on Thursday which made many leap to conclusions that he has returned to Accord Party.

Governor Adeleke’s supporters also made the picture become a meme and helped to spread information that he has returned to Accord Party.

In a telephone interview with Team@orientactualmags.com on Wednesday evening at exactly 4.08 pm, Hon Adesina Atanda clarified and asserted that he remains a committed member of APC while noting that there was nothing unusual about the picture in question.

‘I am a political office holder, the Chief of Staff is also a political office holder and a top government official for that matter,  Speaker Egbedun is also a top political office holder, we’re all government officials. I don’t think there is anything wrong if we take a group picture, I don’t think there’s anything unusual about it. We posed for a group picture and this does not imply that I’ve returned to Accord  Party or about to join another party’ Hon Atanda submitted when asked to comment on the controversial picture.

.

Responding directly to our reporter’s question asking to know which party he belongs to at the present moment? ‘I am a member of APC wholeheartedly as we speak’ he quipped.

When our reporter asked pointedly if defection is ‘under discussion’, he said ‘no’ while adding that ‘ Like I said earlier, I am a member of APC wholeheartedly’.

Shedding light on the controversial group picture, Hon Atanda disclosed that it was taken at the residence of Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye while noting that he was not there for matters that have to do with politics but rather to wish the Chief of Staff happy eid-li-adha.

‘We took the picture at the residence of the Chief of Staff, I went to visit him as a political office holder because he’s also a political office holder and we’re all serving the people.

I am not a member of Accord Party, I was not there for any meeting but rather to wish him happy sallah . I went there alone, the people seen in the picture were those who either met me there or I met them there’ he added-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
