In Pictures: Residents Stage Solidarity March For Kabiru Rurum In Rano LG, Urge Gov Yusuf To Nominate Him As Deputy Governor

As the 2027 General Election draws near, histrionic moments have continued to occur while funny things are also happening almost on a daily basis.

Recall that Kano State Deputy Governorship seat became vacant last month following the decision of Comrade Aminu Abdussalam to resign from his position.

APC bigwigs in the state had since then begun to take necessary steps towards emerging as Aminu’s replacement and no definitive decision has been taken on the issue.

Although the buck stops with Governor Abba Yusuf, some party leaders are also getting in touch with powerful Nigerians to put in a good word for them.

 Under the 1999 Constitution (as amended), a Deputy Governor is replaced by the governor through nomination of a new candidate, who must be confirmed by a simple majority of the State House of Assembly.

While election will not be held before his emergence as Deputy Governor, Team@orientactualmags.com learned that hundreds of supporters of Rep Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, the Turakin Rano, staged a solidarity march for him in Rano local government on Sunday.

They urged the governor and other stakeholders to ensure that Rurum is nominated as the new Deputy Governor.

Rep Rurum represents Rano/Bunkure/Kibiya Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
