The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) will be available for collection between Monday , 12th December 2022 and Sunday, 22nd January 2023 at the offices of the commission in the 774 local governments in the country.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned the National Commissioner and Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee of INEC, Festus Okoye, disclosed this in Abuja on Friday.
He recalled that INEC had held a retreat in Lagos from 28th November to 2nd December 2022 with all the Administrative Secretaries and Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) in the 36 states and the FCT in attendance where the commission finalized the procedure as well as the timetable for collection of PVCs.
‘Consequently, the Commission has fixed Monday 12 December 2022 to Sunday 22 January 2023 as the dates for the collection of PVCs in all the 774 local government offices of the commission in the country.
The commission also resolved to devolve PVC collection to the 8,809 registration areas/wards from Friday 6th to Sunday 15th January 2023’ Okoye said.
He added that those that are unable to collect their PVCs at the local government offices of the commission can do so at the registration areas/electoral wards.
He also said after the 15th of January 2023, the exercise will revert to the local government offices of the commission until 22nd January 2023.
