Kebbi To Host 2024 Qur’an Recitation Competition
The 2024 National Qur’an Recitation Competition will hold in Kebbi State between December 19 and December 27,2024, and a high-powered committee of eminent Islamic Jurists, Academicians and Government Technocrats headed by Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammadu Mera held its inaugural meeting at the monarch’s palace on Monday.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that the Emir emphasized the enormity of the task before the committee members, calling for an absolute dedication towards ensuring success.
‘I am thanking Governor Nasir Idris for appointing us to promote the Glorious Qur’an and Religious tenets.
We have a big task before us, we are thankful to God for affording us the opportunity to advance the cause of this Islamic practice, bequeathed to Muslims by the Noble Prophet Muhammad, SAW.
We are praying that God will make the week for the recitation a blessing to Kebbi and entire Nigeria, May Allah the infinitely merciful drive away all challenges facing our nation’ the Emir prayed.
He also informed the Committee members that, Kebbi would be hosting people from different parts of the country, and they must therefore discharge their assignment with the fear of God.
‘We are under obligation to uphold the trust and confidence reposed in us by our leader, Governor Nasir Idris; we must not disappoint him in anyway.
Iam confident that we are going organize a befitting Competition. I want to use this opportunity to invite all Muslims to come and witness this event which starts on the 19th and ends on 27th of December,2024′ the Emir remarked.
Kebbi State Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Aliyu is the Deputy Chairman of the Committee, with the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs, Dr. Nasir Kigo, serving as Secretary.
Other members are Commissioners for Information and Culture; Animal Health, Husbandry and Fisheries; Basic and Secondary Education; Youths and Sports Development; Women Affairs; as well as the Commissioner for Environment.
Also on the committee are the Rector, Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi, Dr. Usman Sani Tunga, and the Chief Imam of Birnin Kebbi Central Mosque, Sheikh Mukhtar Walin Gwandu.
