Kwara Amir-li-Hajj: It’s Another Opportunity To Serve God, Humanity-Oloriegbe
Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe, who was on Tuesday named as leader of pilgrims from Kwara state ahead of the 1445 AH hajj exercise, . has described his appointment as another opportunity to serve God and humanity.
In a statement issued in Ilorin on Wednesday and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by his media aide, Mr. Bolaji Aladie, Dr Oloriegbe, who represented Kwara Central senatorial district from 2019 to 2023, acknowledged the responsibility that comes with the new role and the chorus of congratulations.
The former federal lawmaker noted that he is embracing the new role as a sense of duty to serve the Muslim community and the people of Kwara state.
Oloriegbe would be leading over three thousand Kwarans to the holy city of Makkah to perform the Hajj pilgrimage this year.
The Amirul-li-hajj emphasized that for Muslim faithful who would be performing the upcoming Hajj, it is a divine call that is beyond having the financial means.
‘It is a spiritual journey that can only be performed by those who are called by Allah (SWT)’ he said.
Oloriegbe also noted that he has taken up the new role that will serve as an avenue to serve his creator and the people of the state. He added that this has also confirmed that he is at peace with every political leader as far as Kwara state development is concerned.
The former senator expressed gratitude for the trust reposed in him by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq by choosing him to serve as the Amir –li-hajj.
He promised to give the task his best effort and to work with all the board members and religious stakeholders to provide Kwarans with a memorable experience in their spiritual journey to the holy land.
