In recognition of his indelible contribution to the development of Budo-Egba , Asa Local Government, and Kwara Central in general, the community under Malam Issa Ishola’s leadership has honoured Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe with a chieftaincy title.
Malam Issa Ishola is the Alangua of Budo-Egba.
Oloriegbe was the Majority Leader of the Kwara state House of Assembly between 1999 and 2003 and he also represented Kwara Central in the senate from 2019 to 2023 .
The top politician was honoured with a chieftaincy title during an event organized to honour prominent Nigerians and indigenes of the town for their exceptional contributions to the socio-economic and socio-political development of Budo-Egba .
‘Oloriegbe was honoured with the chieftaincy title of ‘Akorede of Budo-Egba Land’ , this was in recognition of his numerous impact and interventions in the community, especially, the facilitation of the first-ever Neuropsychiatric Hospital in the whole of the North Central geopolitical zone, sited in the community. The health facility is also the only Federal government establishment in the whole of Asa Local Government and it has since begun operations and it is one of his legacy projects as a member of the 9th Senate and representative of the Kwara Central Senatorial District.
In addition to the chieftaincy title, the Budo-Egba to Gbooroko Road in Asa Local Government was also named after the erstwhile lawmaker as people took turns to shower encomiums on him for his outstanding representation which has put Budo-Egba and Asa local government on the map’ a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted.
The former Chairman , Senate Committee on Health, who was represented by his aides and loyalists led by Alh Waheed Piri, appreciated the community for considering him well suited for such a title, promising to continue to serve humanity in all his endeavors.
The event, had the Grand Mukadam of Ilorin Emirate, Shaykh Suleiman Dan-Borno as the guest lecturer, and it was attended by top dignitaries including members of Kwara state House of Assembly, who were led to the event by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Kolawole Ojo, KWSUBEB Chairman, Prof. Sheu AbdulRaheem Adaramaja, former commissioners; Salman Jawondo, SAN, and Mopelola Riskat, TIC Chairman of Asa Local Government, captains of industry, traditional title holders, politicians, among others- Team@orientactualmags.com
