Kwara Govt Announces N100,000 Grant For 107 Law School Students As 9,989 Final Year Students Begin To Receive Bursary

Kwara state government has begun the payment of 2023/2024 bursary  to final year students at tertiary institutions in the country and a total of 9,989 people, who are indigenes of the state, are the target beneficiaries.

The  state Ministry of Tertiary Education in a statement issued in Ilorin  which was made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Friday  by Mansurat Amuda-kannike, who is the ministry’s Press Secretary, also noted that the bursary recipients were sourced from the 27, 314 entry applicants from across the 16 local governments in the state.

‘ Having been graciously approved by His Excellency , Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, we have started paying the N10,000 bursary to each of the successful applicants’  the statement quoted the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. Mary Arinde to have submitted.

‘The payment of bursary  began on Wednesday, 27th March, and it will continue until we finish the disbursement. We are paying directly to their bank  accounts for transparency and accountability. There are a few of these successful applicants whose account details are not correct and we will contact them’ the commissioner added.

The statement  added that having gotten the go-ahead from the governor, the N100,000 grant approved  for the Law Students  (year 2022/2023 academic session) is also being paid directly  to  the 107 successful applicants who are indigenes of  Kwara state.

‘This  kind gesture was because of  the governor’s magnanimity and his commitment to  putting a smile on  the faces of final year students at tertiary institutions in the country who are  Kwara indigenes’  it added.

The statement also  quoted Dr. Arinde to have  lauded the governor’s several support for the student community while noting that beneficiaries of the bursary are Kwarans who had registered on the portal opened for that purpose by the government.

The statement added that many of the bursary applicants did not make the list on account of various irregularities such as incomplete information,  invalid matriculation numbers, invalid Bank verification Number (BVN),  inappropriate or dubious details/information, among others-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
