
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has appointed Professor Medinat Folorunsho Salman as Acting Vice -Chancellor of the newly established Kwara State University of Education (KWSUED), Ilorin.
Professor Salman is the first person to serve as the head of the institution.
The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Rafiu Ajakaye, who announced her appointment in a statement he issued in Ilorin on Tuesday and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com, noted that the Vice-Chancellor, a professor of mathematics education, was until getting appointed as head of the newly established institution, a lecturer at the Department of Science Education and Coordinator of the Educational Technology Centre, University of Ilorin.
‘Folorunsho Salman had her Bachelor of Education degree from the Ahmadu Bello University ,Zaria in 1985; a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Ilorin in 1990; and a doctoral degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Ilorin in 1998.
Her research interests are Mathematics Education, gender issues in mathematics and science education, and innovation in mathematics education in the developing world.
