Kwara Politics: NACLFON Emphasizes Importance Of Religious Equality, Mixed-Faith Gubernatorial Ticket
National Coordinator of the National APC Christian Leaders Forum of Nigeria (NACLFON), Professor Olanrewaju Abraham, has urged Christians in Kwara State to maintain unwavering faith in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its commitment to equity, especially ‘religious equality’ which usually reflects in the gubernatorial tickets of political parties.
Professor Abraham emphasized that while religious demographics are not explicitly codified in electoral laws, they however represent a foundational, unwritten ethical framework that guides the political conscience of the state for its two highest political offices.
Professor Abraham, an Indigene of Idofian, Ifelodun local government, Kwara State, drew the attention of APC leadership in the State of Harmony to rival political parties that have actively maintained a strict mixed-faith (Christian-Muslim) gubernatorial tickets.
Warning detractors to stop spreading rumours of a potential Muslim-Muslim gubernatorial ticket, Professor Abraham in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com described such claims as ‘unholy narratives’ intentionally designed to tarnish the image of APC.
He urged party members, who are Christians and the broader Christian community to ignore the speculation, rally behind the APC, and remain focused on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
In a major political move, Professor Abraham also disclosed that NACLFON has launched a massive nationwide electoral mobilization initiative called ‘Operation Go for 50’.
The statement noted that the ambitious campaign targets mobilization of 9.8 million voters across the country to make President Tinubu win re-election next year.
Professor Abraham, who is the Vice-Chancellor of HBI University, Florida, United States of America, said NALFCON is ready to provide an unassailable grassroots structure in support of the APC presidential ticket.
